Motorised Mirror Lifting Mechanism Installation

AV Installs was approached initially by Mr Alain for some information on how he could hide his flat screen TV behind a mirror when not in use. We went through all the options of using our Mirror TV Framing and Motorised Mirror systems. After our engineers completed a survey it was decided that due to lighting conditions a motorised mirror to hide the TV was the best solution.

If you have not seen Motorised Mirror Lifts before they are a really fantastic product, a motorised enclosure is recessed into the wall above the TV and provides a frame for a Mirror to be attached to. With the press of a button the mechanism raises the mirror vertically to reveal a recessed flat screen TV behind, when you done press the button and the mirror lowers to conceal the flat screen TV. The project was completed in multiple stages, once the initial survey and design drawing were completed the first stage of the project was to extend the chimney breast wall out by 100mm. The reason for this was to provide the required recesses to accommodate the mirror lifting mechanism, sound bar and 46″ LED flat screen. Wooden stud work was fixed  to the existing solid wall and plaster boarded, then the required cut outs were made and all the cabling hidden ready for the final skim.

The final stage after all the decorating had been completed was to install all of the hardware, connect everything and finally configure the home entertainment system.
