Why HDMI 2.1

Not everyone realises that not all HDMI cables are the same or offer the same functions. However, it’s important to recognise that HDMI 2.1 is the latest version and is backwards compatible with all earlier versions.
The main difference between HDMI 2.0 and the new 2.1 is the bandwidth and data transfer rate. HDMI 2.0 supports only 18Gbps, which allows for a 4K picture at 60Hz.
