Guide To Fold Down TV Lift Mechanisms
In-ceiling fold-down TV lift mechanisms are an excellent solution for hiding your flat-screen TV when not in use. They are used extensively in high-end hotels, luxury homes, yachts and in boardrooms. Adding a touch of class to those who want to conceal their large screen TVs as much as possible. There is a range of different-sized models catering for all screen sizes up to 86″. There are also various additional articulation options, including 180-degree rotation and telescopic drop. In this post, we will take a closer look at the different models of fold-down in-ceiling TV lifts and their suitable applications.
The Future Automation CHR series
The CHR series, our versatile entry-level fold-down lift, is designed to suit most indoor applications with a standard UK height ceiling. These lifts can be seamlessly installed into traditional wooden joist ceilings or suspended from concrete slabs. With five models in the range, catering to screen sizes from 42″ to 86″, the CHR series offers a wide range of options. Each model comes complete with an IR remote control and a host of other compatible control connections. The CHR series folds a flat screen TV down from the ceiling up to 100 degrees, ensuring a comfortable viewing angle.
The Future Automation CHRS series
With the CHRS series of ceiling lifts, you get everything that the CHR series offers, and more. In addition to the features of the CHR series, the CHRS series allows you to rotate the screen up to 180 degrees in both directions. The CHRS lifts the TV down to 90 degrees before allowing the user to rotate it in any direction. The bi-directional rotation makes this particularly useful for viewing the screen from different rooms or areas. Some of our customers have used these mechanisms in front of their patio doors, allowing them to turn the TV around and watch it from the garden.
The Future Automation CHRT series
The CHRT series is identical to the CHR series; it folds the TV down to 90 degrees before lowering further with an additional telescopic drop. This enables you to bring the screen even further into the room for a more comfortable view. This makes the CHRT lifts especially useful in applications where the ceilings are taller than the standard UK height. This is particularly useful in more commercial and retail situations. Again, the CHRT series comes in five different sizes, catering for all screen sizes up to 86″. As with all the fold-down lifts, the CHRT also comes with a unique feather in an MDF surround for a seamless installation.
The Future Automation CHRST
The CHRST series fold-down TV series is a hybrid lift that incorporates all the features of the previous lifts. It folds down, lowers and rotates all into one unit for screen sizes up to 86″. The CHRST first folds the TV down to 90 degrees, then you can reduce it further with the telescopic function. Additionally, like the CHRS, you can rotate the screen up to 180 degrees in either direction. The CHRST does require a deeper ceiling cavity than the other lifts to accommodate the additional articulation.
