There are many pressing questions this festive period: Have we been naughty or nice? Which company has won the battle of the TV ads? Will we have room for Grandma around the Christmas table? And, of course, our favourite here at AV Installs HQ: Does Santa mount his TV on the wall?

Let’s be honest, as much as we love him, his physique does lend itself more towards time spent on the sofa versus time spent on the treadmill, so we are in little doubt as to whether he owns one. The question is, where do we think he has put it?  Looking back to our post in September, where we discussed the benefits of wall mounting your TV, we need to consider whether Santa is the kind of person who would want to capitalise on all of these benefits.

First of all, we have the fact that wall mounting is exactly what TVs are designed for nowadays, and Santa strikes us as the kind of non-nonsense guy who likes to use things for which they are intended. To deliver so much in such short timescales, you need everyone and everything to do the job for which they are best suited. This could potentially extend to aspects of his private life as well.

Next is the enhanced viewing experience you get with a wall-mounted TV: we all know that if placed in the correct position on the wall, a good TV can deliver a viewing experience which is not only comfortable by reducing eye and neck strain, but also allows you to enjoy the full impact of the screen and picture quality. Now, do we think Santa would want this? Well, we know he isn’t getting any younger, so surely comfort has to be key. Also, he’s Santa, so doesn’t he deserve the best viewing experience you can get?

So now let’s consider space. When we think about Mr and Mrs Claus’ home, we think of a warm, log-cabin-style house with big spaces and a roaring open fire to help warm them on the cold nights up in the North Pole. We don’t picture unnecessary furniture cluttering up their rooms, so surely a wall mount is the perfect solution, allowing them to snuggle up and enjoy their favourite shows without compromising on space.

Next is the style, that red and white?  Those boots? The iconic hat? We have to admit that Santa is one stylish guy, so why wouldn’t he like a home that is not only functional but also looks great?

Finally, we have safety – needless to say, there are a lot of little people running around Santa’s workshop (which I assume is attached to his home), so it makes sense to mount his TV out of the way, where accidents are far less likely to happen.
