Choosing a high-capacity speaker connection plate is essential to building a clean, professional, reliable 7-channel surround sound system.

1. Dolby 7.1 & 7.2 Surround Sound Configurations

• The Benefit: Ideal for dedicated home theatre rooms, adding side-surround and rear-surround channels to fill large spaces with a complete 360-degree sound field.

• Key Feature: Includes 14 gold-plated speaker binding posts and a single RCA subwoofer socket, with the option to add a second subwoofer coupler for 7.2 systems.

• Speaker Post Caps: These decorative caps come in black or white, with easy identification bands for + and – channels. These caps fit over our gold-plated speaker post thumb screws while still allowing the binding posts to operate and banana plugs to fit. Available for the front only or for the front and back. Key Technical Factors to Consider Before Buying

• Solder-Free Binding Posts: Avoid complex soldering inside wall cavities. Our dual-purpose, gold-plated posts accept bare wire or 4mm banana plugs identically on both the front and back of the plate.

• Subwoofer Right-Angle Adaptor: Each plate includes a gold-plated 90-degree right-angle RCA coupler for the back of the plate, reducing strain on cables in tight wall cavities.

• Clear Engraving: To prevent wiring mistakes behind the receiver, we permanently engrave all terminals with channel locations: FL, FR, C, SL, SR, RSL, RSR, and SUB.

Helpful Tip

AV Installs highly recommends using deeper backboxes, such as 42mm or 47mm deep back boxes (dryline or flush masonry). This gives the installer extra room behind the plate to route the in-wall speaker cables without causing damage or pinching them.
