Some subwoofers not only require a RCA phono connector but also require grounding to the AV receiver to stop any interference and humming. This is generally when the subwoofer is not earthed on the mains socket. We have developed the following single gang subwoofer wall plate with a ground binding post. Featuring gold-plated RCA phono socket on the front and the rear. Along with a ground binding post on the front for spade connectors or bare wire.
The RCA connectors accept any standard phono subwoofer cable. We also supply this plate with a 90 degree right angle phono adaptor for the back , or we recommend using a right-angle cable to keep the depth to a minimum. The ground post has a threaded bar with a pair of locking nuts on the back for spade connectors or bare wire. The phono socket coupler and ground is set on a single-gang wall plate, available in multiple decorative finishes.
The connections are recessed on our plastic plates or mounted using black nylon insulating bushes on our custom metal plates.This plate will fit any standard UK single-gang back box and comes complete with a pair of screws.
A subwoofer connection with ground plate is an excellent way of providing a professional connection between the AV receiver and subwoofer speakers that require grounding to the amp. They are used when the cabling is permanently installed within the walls, offering a dedicated point of connection. This makes future upgrades of the speakers or home cinema AV receiver easy.
