Key Technical Factors to Consider Before Buying

High Terminal Density: This double-gang plate packs 18 binding posts and up to 2 RCA couplers. We recommend using a 47mm-deep double-gang back box (steel or plasterboard) to ensure sufficient clearance for the wires inside the wall.
Solderless Connectivity: Equipped with screw-clamp terminals on both the front and back of the plate, accepting bare speaker cable or 4mm banana plugs for an easy, solder-free install.
Channels Labelled: Every terminal is permanently engraved with matching channel positions (FL, FR, C, FSL, FSR, SL, SR, RSL, RSR, and SUB) for straightforward wiring.

Installation Tip

Always opt for deeper backboxes (like 42mm or 47mm dryline or flush masonry). The extra breathing room makes routing in-wall speaker cables a breeze and prevents them from getting pinched or damaged behind the faceplate.

9.1 Surround Sound Speaker Placement

The standard 9.1 system (pre-Atmos definition) expands the width of the front soundstage, prioritising lateral seamlessness over height.

Placement Notes:

This layout keeps all eight speakers from the 7.1 system.
Two Front Wide speakers (FWL, FWR) are added to the side walls, positioned between the Front L/R and the Side SL/SR.
These Wide speakers are angled sharply backwards toward the listener, pulling the front imaging wider and more seamless. Note: In some vintage definitions, 9.1 utilised Front Height speakers instead of Wides, but the modern ‘Wide’ placement is shown here to define the full horizontal plane.
